How to ask with this skill installed
Installing the skill gives your AI a method. Your request still has to provide the case-specific facts, constraints and expected output.
Describe the decision or deliverable, not just the topic.
Add source material, audience, limits and known facts.
Set format, quality criteria and checks.
Mistakes to avoid
Error 1: Asking without a relationship Don't ask for testimonials from clients you've had one session with. Testimonials require trust — the client needs to feel they know you well enough to put their reputation behind your name. Wait for genuine relationship and demonstrated value.
Error 2: Sending a form instead of a conversation Forms feel transactional and kill authentic voice. A warm, personalized message gets better testimonials because it invites the client to speak naturally. If you must use a form, add a voice-note option.
Error 3: Asking the wrong questions "Would you recommend me to a friend?" is the standard NPS question and produces standard answers. Instead, ask about specific transformation. "What changed for you?" generates the kind of specific, credible content that converts.
Error 4: Not getting explicit permission Using a testimonial without clear permission — especially on social media — is a trust violation and potentially a legal issue. Always get written (even email-text) permission specifying exactly where it will be used.
Error 5: Collecting testimonials once One collection sprint at the end of the year leaves you with an empty pipeline in Q1. Make testimonial collection a continuous habit tied to milestone tracking. Every coachable moment is a potential testimonial moment.
Error 6: Using testimonials without context A standalone "Great coach!" is meaningless without a frame. Place testimonials near the offer or outcome they reference: a testimonial about revenue growth should sit near your revenue coaching offer, not your general coaching page.
