How to ask with this skill installed
Installing the skill gives your AI a method. Your request still has to provide the case-specific facts, constraints and expected output.
Describe the decision or deliverable, not just the topic.
Add source material, audience, limits and known facts.
Set format, quality criteria and checks.
When to use it
- Adding a new vehicle to inventory (acquisition, trade-in, auction purchase)
- Updating vehicle status (available, pending sale, sold, trade reserved)
- Checking lot location when a customer or salesperson needs to find a vehicle
- Pricing a vehicle: competitive market analysis before setting the asking price
- Identifying aged inventory (30/60/90-day rule) and recommending action
- Monthly inventory audit and reconciliation
- Generating inventory reports for the dealer principal or sales manager
Mistakes to avoid
- Pricing a vehicle before recon is complete — listing a vehicle with dirty interior and worn tires at full market price will sit on the lot; complete recon first, then price
- Not tracking lot location in real-time — the #1 service complaint is "we can't find the vehicle the customer wants to see"
- Holding onto aged inventory too long out of pride — a 90-day vehicle that's priced right should have sold; if it hasn't, the price is still wrong or the vehicle has a hidden problem
- Allowing front-line people to discount without a minimum price discipline — every $500 discount without GSM approval is taken directly from the dealer's pocket, not the salesperson's
- Not reconciling inventory to physical lot weekly — discrepancies between DMS inventory count and actual vehicles on lot create serious problems during physical inventory counts
