Installing the skill gives your AI a method. Your request still has to provide the case-specific facts, constraints and expected output.
Describe the decision or deliverable, not just the topic.

When to use it
- An H-1B employee's spouse wants to apply for an H-4 EAD (work authorization)
- Dependent children approaching age 21 (aging out of dependent status)
- An L-2 spouse needs proof of status for employment verification
- Dependent visa renewal is approaching
- A dependent is applying to college and needs proof of residency/documentation
- The primary visa holder changes employers — what's the impact on dependents?
Mistakes to avoid
- Telling H-4 spouses they qualify for an H-4 EAD when they don't — the requirement is I-140 approval or H-1B beyond the 6th year; if the H-1B holder is still in their initial 6-year period without an approved I-140, the spouse does NOT qualify
- Forgetting that H-4 EAD validity is tied to the H-1B holder's status — if the H-1B holder changes employers and files a new H-1B, the H-4 EAD based on the old H-1B's I-140 may no longer be valid; this must be renewed
- Not tracking the L-2 EAD expiration separately from the L-2 visa stamp expiration — the EAD card validity and the visa stamp validity are separate; working beyond the EAD expiration date is unauthorized employment even if the visa stamp is still valid
- Assuming that a child who ages out can simply "stay on the parent's visa" — once a child turns 21, they must have their own independent legal status; the family must act well before the 21st birthday to prevent a gap in status
